Laminate Flooring Sale – Quality Floors at Affordable Prices

Looking for a genuine laminate flooring sale without having to settle for low-quality boards? At Laminate Floor World, we believe a good deal should mean getting a better floor for your money, not simply buying the cheapest product available.

We supply affordable 8mm and 12mm laminate flooring from established manufacturers and selected imported ranges. Because we source and import many products directly, we can offer competitive prices on specifications that we are comfortable installing in our customers’ homes.

Our approach comes from more than 20 years of hands-on flooring experience. We started on the installation side of the industry, so when we select products to sell, we look beyond colour and price. We consider the HDF core, AC rating, locking system, V-groove, water resistance and overall construction of the board.

Laminate Flooring for Sale – Don’t Compare Price Alone

One of the biggest mistakes we see is customers comparing laminate flooring purely by the advertised price per square metre.

A R200/m² floor is not necessarily better value than a R250/m² floor. You need to understand what you are receiving for the difference in price.

Some inexpensive products sold through large hardware and tile retailers are 6mm or 7mm AC3 boards. In many cases, we can offer customers an 8mm AC4 V-groove water-resistant laminate at a competitive price because of the way we source our products.

That is why our advice is simple: compare specifications before comparing prices.

If you want to understand the construction behind those specifications, read our guide to choosing quality laminate flooring boards.

Affordable 8mm Laminate Flooring

A good 8mm AC4 laminate is one of our favourite choices for customers who want an affordable aesthetic upgrade.

It works particularly well in bedrooms, studies, passages and other suitable dry interior spaces. More importantly, choosing 8mm doesn’t mean you have to accept the lowest specification available.

We prefer products with a dense HDF core, reliable locking system, V-groove edges and good water resistance. These are characteristics we look at because we also install the products we sell.

12mm Laminate Flooring Specials

If your budget allows, 12mm laminate offers a noticeably more substantial feel underfoot.

South African homes are generally built on concrete substrates. In our experience, a quality 12mm board provides a more solid and comfortable walking surface. This is particularly noticeable in bedrooms where people often walk barefoot.

For customers looking for a premium specification, we particularly like 12mm AC5 laminate with strong water resistance.

However, thickness alone doesn’t determine quality. A 12mm board should still have a good HDF core, accurate locking system and appropriate wear rating.

What Makes a Laminate Flooring Special Good Value?

A genuine flooring special should still be a product suitable for its intended application. Before buying, we recommend checking:

  • Thickness: Quality 8mm offers excellent value, while 12mm provides a more substantial feel.
  • AC rating: We generally prefer AC4 or AC5.
  • HDF density: A tightly compressed core contributes to board stability.
  • Locking system: Poor locking profiles can create installation problems and weak joints.
  • V-groove: We prefer defined V-groove boards for both appearance and joint definition.
  • Water resistance: Check the actual manufacturer’s specification.
  • Warranty: Understand both the product warranty and its conditions.

Why Some Laminate Flooring Goes on Sale

A reduced price doesn’t automatically mean there is something wrong with the product.

Flooring ranges can be discounted because a supplier is clearing a colour, changing a collection, reducing remaining stock or making space for new ranges. We may also negotiate better pricing when buying larger quantities.

This can create an opportunity to purchase a higher-specification floor for less. However, clearance colours can sell out quickly and may not be available again once the remaining stock is gone.

Buying Enough Sale Flooring Is Important

When buying a discontinued or clearance colour, make sure you order enough material for the complete installation, including the required wastage.

Buying too little can become a problem if the colour sells out before your project is finished. Even products with the same colour name may vary between manufacturing batches.

Our team can calculate your approximate flooring requirement from your measurements, or we can arrange a professional site measurement where applicable.

Cheap Laminate Flooring vs Affordable Quality

There is an important difference between cheap laminate flooring and affordable quality laminate flooring.

Our goal isn’t to find the thinnest board at the lowest possible price. Laminate Floor World is an installation-based business, and our reputation depends heavily on reviews, referrals and repeat customers.

We therefore prefer selling products that our installers are comfortable working with and that we believe offer reasonable value for the customer.

We don’t just sell you a box of flooring. We can provide the complete solution, including product selection, measurements, laminate flooring underlay, accessories, subfloor preparation and professional installation.

Sale Flooring Still Needs the Correct Subfloor

Getting a good price on the boards won’t help if the installation conditions are wrong.

The subfloor needs to be sufficiently level, clean, stable and dry before laminate is installed. We use moisture testing where required because a concrete or screeded surface can appear dry while still containing excessive moisture.

An uneven subfloor can also place unnecessary movement and stress on the locking system.

We don’t recommend using thick underlay to compensate for an uneven floor. Correct preparation comes first.

Professional Laminate Flooring Installation

Customers can purchase selected flooring for DIY projects, but we also provide professional laminate flooring installation throughout Gauteng.

Correct installation includes more than clicking boards together. Expansion gaps must be maintained, doorways need to be finished correctly, profiles and skirtings must be secured, and the installer needs to identify unsuitable subfloor conditions before the floor is laid.

After an installation, we recommend checking the expansion areas, board joints, doors, skirtings and profiles before the project is signed off.

Where We Recommend Using Laminate Flooring

We particularly like laminate in dry interior spaces such as bedrooms, studies, passages, lounges and offices.

We are more cautious in bathrooms, kitchens and areas with a high risk of water exposure. No floating floor should be treated as completely waterproof simply because the board carries a water-resistance rating.

Over more than two decades in the industry, water damage has been one of the most common reasons we’ve been called to inspect or repair floors.

For broader advice before purchasing, read our laminate floor buying guide.

Can You Buy Laminate Flooring on Sale for DIY Installation?

Yes. Customers who prefer DIY installation can purchase flooring and accessories from us without booking an installation team.

However, make sure the subfloor is suitable before starting. The correct expansion gaps, moisture protection and installation method remain important regardless of who fits the floor.

If you are uncertain about the product specification or quantity required, ask our team before placing the order.

Frequently Asked Questions About Laminate Flooring Sales

Is sale laminate flooring lower quality?

Not necessarily. Products may be reduced because of clearance stock, discontinued colours, supplier promotions or bulk purchasing. Always compare the actual specification rather than judging the product by its sale price.

Should I buy 8mm or 12mm laminate?

A quality 8mm AC4 product can provide excellent value for customers working within a budget. A good 12mm board generally gives a more substantial and comfortable feel underfoot. The HDF core, AC rating, locking system and water resistance should also be considered.

Is AC4 good enough for a home?

AC4 is generally the minimum wear specification we prefer for the residential laminate products we sell. Customers wanting a higher specification can also consider AC5 ranges.

Is water-resistant laminate waterproof?

No. Water resistance is useful, but it doesn’t make the complete installed floor waterproof. If water gets underneath a floating floor, it can become trapped and cause damage.

Can you install flooring bought on sale?

Yes. Subject to location and installation requirements, our teams can supply and professionally install selected sale ranges throughout Gauteng.

Compare Before You Buy

A laminate flooring sale is most valuable when it allows you to purchase a better specification within your budget.

Start by comparing the products currently available above. Then look beyond colour and check thickness, AC rating, HDF construction, locking system, V-groove and water resistance.
